JULIA M. SUESS
(1915 - 2014)
Julia M. Suess age 98, formerly of Francis Creek, went into eternal rest on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Harmony Home of Manitowoc.
Julia was born July 8, 1915 in the town of Pilsen, WI, daughter of the late George and Theresa (Cherney) Nejedlo. On September 21, 1943 Julia married Leo J. Suess at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pilsen, WI. He preceded her in death on October 28, 1998. Julia and her husband Leo farmed and owned a tavern at Stangleville before moving to Francis Creek in 1949 where they farmed until their retirement. She was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Altar Society and was active with mission work. She was also a member of the Rockwood and Francis Creek Senior Citizens. Julia enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, playing cards and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law: Gary (Nancy) Suess, Brillion; David Suess, Francis Creek; one daughter and son-in-law: Linda (Bruce) Hammes, Manitowoc; five grandchildren: Rick (Holly) Suess; Robert (Karen) Suess; Shelly (Terry) Lau; Vince and Luis Hammes; seven great grandchildren; one brother-in-law: Robert Suess; one sister-in-law: Dorothy Suess; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Leo; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Marcella (Wilbert) Marcelle; Mildred (Edward) Piescheck.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Rev. John Becker and Rev. Milton Suess will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial, with burial to follow at the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
