ARLENE SYDOW
(1920 - 2008)
Arlene K. Sydow, age 87, a resident of Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, died on Thursday morning, June 26, 2008, at Shady Lane.
She was born on June 30, 1920, in Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Adam and Rose (Dirkman) Herrmann. Arlene attended Palm Grove Grade School and graduated from Rockwood High School. On Nov. 11, 1941, she married Charles L. Sydow in Francis Creek. Arlene and her husband farmed in the town of Kossuth, and later she was employed with North Ridge Medical & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc. Charles preceded her in death on July 9, 1984. She was a member of the Christian Women of St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek.
Survivors include a son: Charles M. Sydow, Whitelaw; two granddaughters: Laurie and Mark Eberhardt, Manitowoc, and Lisa and Tracey Temme, Manitowoc; a grandson: Charles A. and Dawn Sydow, Wasilla, Alaska; nine great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law: Melvin and Florence Herrmann, Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2008, at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Paul Paider, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, 2008. Friends may also call on Monday morning at the funeral home from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m.

Mrs. Charles L. Sydow - At St. Ann's Catholic church at Francis Creek on November 11th, Miss Arlene Kathrine Herrmann was married to Mr. Sydow and the couple are residing on Manitowoc route 5. The couple exchanged rings which were carried to the altar in a lily cup. Before the ceremony the bride carried a bouquet of flowers to the Blessed Virgin altar.
