(1940 - 2014)
Jo Ann Thom, 74, died suddenly in her home on Thursday, May 15, 2014.
Jo Ann was born in Manitowoc, WI on March 9, 1940. She was one of twelve children to Erwin and Josephine Schuette.
JoAnn was a devoted wife of 54 years to Major (retired USAF) Roger E. Thom who preceded her in death on April 23, 2014 and mother to Connie Mahoney (and husband Melvin) of Dover, DE and Douglas Thom (and wife Venus) of Spanish Fort, AL. Jo Ann's love and guidance were immeasurable.
Jo Ann was a feisty, spirited individual who enjoyed life and was quick to dance the polka at any given moment. She was a talented artist and painted beautiful landscapes, birds and flowers. She enjoyed playing cards and was a creative Scrabble player as she created new spellings for words that Webster's Dictionary didn't contain. She and her husband enjoyed building puzzles together and traveling.
Jo Ann's greatest joy was her five grandchildren: Ryan Mahoney, Conner Mahoney, Jordan Thom, Haley Godwin and Jacob Thom. JoAnn touched many lives and will be missed deeply. Our lives have been changed forever by her passing.
Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
An intimate memorial service will be held in her home.
In lieu of flowers, donations of canned goods to the local Food Bank in memory of JoAnn Thom would be greatly appreciated.
