Notes from Fischerville
One by one, the pioneer settlers are called to the great beyond from which there is no return and the last to answer the roll call was Mr. Lorenz Wallau, one of the earliest settlers in this part of the county who passed away at the home of his nephew, Mr. Quirn Wallau on Wednesday, March 17. The cause of death was cancer.

Deceased was a kind and indulgent man and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.

Funeral services were held Saturday forenoon from the Catholic Church at Francis Creek, Rev. Prochaska performing the last sad rites. The high esteem in which he was held was testified by the large number who attended the funeral and followed the remains to their resting place.
