DEATH CALLS QUIRIN WALLAU FRANCIS CREEK
Lived on Same Farm for Seventy-five Years
Quirin Wallau, Sr., pioneer of Manitowoc county, who spent all of his life on the farm at Francis Creek where he was born when Wisconsin was still a territory, died at the Holy Family hospital at 1:35 this afternoon after an illness of some weeks. Mr. Wallau was removed to the hospital a week ago after a serious illness of more than three weeks, in the hope that he might recover but death claimed him today.
Quirin Wallau was born April 8, 1848 and was seventy-five years of age. He was taken by his parents over the Indian trail to Manitowoc Rapids to the old Catholic mission where he was baptized and gained his early education in the parochial and public schools of Kossuth. Fifty-three years ago, September 25, 1870, he was married to Barbara Fierst who preceded him in death five years ago.
He is survived by four children, Mrs. Edward Woerfel of this city, Mrs. Margaret Raeck of Two Rivers, Miss Mary Wallau, a trained nurse of this city and Quirin, Jr., who makes his home on the old farm at Francis Creek.
The funeral arrangements have not been completed and will be announced later.

The funeral of Quirin Wallau, Sr., who died at the Holy Family hospital yesterday afternoon, will be held Saturday morning with services at the Catholic church at Francis Creek at 10 o’clock. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
