NASCAR Driver. Bouchard was a race car driver on the NASCAR (National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing) circuit during the 1980s and was the 1981 NASCAR Winston Cup Rookie of the Year. He began racing in 1963, substituting for an ill driver for his father's car and continued working his way up in the sport, winning many races in the "modified car" category. Bouchard began his NASCAR career n 1981 and won that year's Talladega 500 race, considered by many as the biggest upset in NASCAR history. He was awarded the Rookie of the Year title for 1981 after having a great first year, but never was able to repeat the success in the years to come. After 1987 Bouchard left racing and started an auto dealership in his hometown of Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
