Farmer Stricken With Heart Attack At Home Near Newbern

Clarence E. Zeigler , 58, died of a heart attack at 2 o'clock this morning at the family residence south of Newbern after becoming suddenly ill during the night.
Mr. Zeigler, a farmer, had been in failing health, but his condition had not been considered serious and he had been able to continue his work. He awakened from sleep early this morning and died within a few minutes after suffering a heart attack. He had suffered a mild attack a few days ago.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon in Newbern Methodist church and burial will be made in Garland Brook cemetery. The body will be at the Norman Funeral home at Hope until time of the services at the church. The rites will be conducted by Dr. T. K. Smith, pastor of the Christian church, assisted by the Rev. C. H. Allison, pastor of the Newbern Methodist church.
Mr. Zeigler was a native of Bartholomew county and had resided in this county all his life. He was a veteran of the first World war.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Ruth Zeigler; four children, Mrs. Don Carvin, Chester Zeigler and Miss Sadie Zeigler, all of Columbus, and Mrs. William Compton of Franklin; five brothers and a sister, Albert, Fred and Willis Zeigler of this county, Ernest Zeigler of Shelbyville, Homer Zeigler of Missouri and Mrs. Mable Theobold of Hope, and two granddaughters.
