Joseph N. Cummings

Joseph N. Cummings, age 64, a regional director for the AFI in Michigan, died at 4 a.m. today at his home, 1009 Columbia, Berkley.

A resident of the Columbia address for 26 years, Mr. Cummings was born Aug. 12, 1893, at Canterbury Station, N.B., Can. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and belonged to the Consistory, Royal Oak chapter 167, RAM and Union Labor lodge 99, American Legion.

Among the survivors are his wife, Helen T. (Scott), to whom he was married on June 28, 1921, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; a son, Gale N., 1976 Robina, Berkley, one daughter, Mrs. Herbert J. Prang, 1071 Rochester, Troy, a brother, Arthur of Long Island, N.Y.; a sister Mrs. John Pierson of Tucson, Ariz.; and three granddaughters.

The Rev. Paul S. Durham of the First Methodist church, Royal Oak, will conduct funeral services at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, at the J.H. Spiller funeral home, 836 North Main, Royal Oak.

Mr. Cummings will be buried in Roseland Park cemetery.
