Lennie Batson Atkinson Esposito, age 90, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2006.
She was born in Duplin County, NC, on April 5, 1916, to the late Winslow and Della Hardison Batson.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Atkinson, Sr.; a son, Robert Atkinson, Jr.; sisters, Lorina Bryan, Della Ray King and Sarah McKoy; and brothers, Paul Stanley, Elisha Stanley, and Charles ?CD? Batson.

Lennie was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Wilmington. She was retired after 31 years as a Computer Systems Analyst for the Naval Supply Center in Norfolk, VA from 1941 to 1973, then moving to Wilmington. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Civil Service Retirement (Statewide) and AARP.

She is survived by her husband, John Esposito; son Charles David Atkinson of Wilmington; grandson, Michael Winslow Atkinson and wife Jill of Cape Hatteras; grandsons, Dylan Michael Atkinson and Ross Winslow Atkinson; and brother, Jesse L. Batson and wife Jeanne of Wilmington.

A graveside service will be held 11 am on Wednesday at Barlow Vista Baptist Church Cemetery in Hampstead, NC.

A visitation for family and friends will be at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel from 6:30 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday and also one hour prior to the service at Barlow Vista Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Boys and Girls Home of Lake Waccamaw or the Barlow Vista Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
