ISABEL B. BRENNAN

Isabel B. Brennan, age 93, of 1815 N. County J, Cato, entered Eternal Life on Friday, Nov. 13, 2009.

Isabel was born on Oct. 11, 1916, at her home in Clarks Mills to the late Edwin L. and Kathrine (Tuschel) Kasbaum. She graduated from St. Mary's Grade School and Valders High School with the class of 1934. She continued her education at Manitowoc Business College for two years. Isabel was very good with numbers and worked for Creditors Adjustment Bureau. She married her childhood sweetheart, Eugene "Jim" Brennan, on Oct. 18, 1941. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2000.

Jim and Isabel ran their own excavating business, Brennan & Rolland Inc., for many years. Isabel also worked at Mirro Corp. while raising seven children until her retirement in 1983.

She was a member of St. Mary's Congregation, belonging to the Christian Mothers' Society. She was a woman of deep religious faith, which she practiced daily. After her retirement, she volunteered her time listening and reading to first- and second-graders at the school, which she enjoyed very much.

Isabel loved traveling with her children, gardening, reading, writing in her journals, cutting out newspaper articles of interest for her scrapbooks, rooting for the Green Bay Packers, playing Spider Solitaire on her computer, playing with her cats, and attending her children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's academic/sports activities. She enjoyed spending her summers at her family's cottage at Kelly Lake, especially taking time to read, do puzzles, play board games, and nap on her screen porch that her children dubbed "Isabel's Retreat." She had a wonderfully warm and loving personality as well as a keen sense of humor.

Isabel is survived by her seven children: Eileen and Harvey Mleziva of Whitelaw and their children: Mark and Beth Mleziva (children: Madeline and William) of Appleton, Brian and Gina Dresang (children: Anna, Natalie and Lauren) of Darboy, Troy and Katie Mleziva (son: Mason) of Wauwatosa, Stacy Mleziva of Milwaukee, Lisa Mleziva and her fiancé, Tom Cook, of Milwaukee; Bonnie Brennan of Manitowoc; Will and Carol Gauger and their daughter: Heather (children: Alex, Anthony, Tafron and Maurice) of Manitowoc; David and JoAnn Anderson of rural Manitowoc and their children: Dustin and Shelby Anderson (daughter: Eloise) of Minneapolis, Garret Anderson of Manitowoc and HaLeigh Jo at home; Bill Brennan of Cato; Tom and Laurie Wegforth of Manitowoc; Dennis and Maureen Lehman of Clarks Mills and their children: Nicholas, Cady and Alison and one foster child: Sue Rudin of Manitowoc; her special friend: Pauline Wallander of Clarks Mills, other relatives and friends. Her only sibling, Gertrude Kasbaum Remiker, preceded her in death in 2005. She is survived by her brother-in-law: Victor Remiker of Clarks Mills, and his children: Joe and Pat Pivonka of Valders, Ken and Kate La Croix of Sheboygan, and Don and Mary Thompson of Waunakee.
