Rita Catherine Mrotek, 62, of Valders, Wisconsin, passed away Monday morning, February 12, 1990, at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Rev. John Conrad will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

She was born February 23, 1927, at Maple Grove, daughter of the late Aloysious and Mary Kirby Cavanaugh. She was a 1945 graduate of Lincoln High School and was formerly employed by Leverenz Shoe Company of Valders. She married James Mrotek on February 3, 1951, at St. Paul's Church, Manitowoc.

Survivors include her husband, James; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Timothy, John and Debbie, and Michael, all of Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jon Preston of Maribel; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Jane Cavanaugh of Dunedin, Florida, John and Gail Cavanaugh of Manitowoc, Robert and Luanne Cavanaugh of Wausaukee, Wisconsin; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Mrs. Rosemary Vandecastle of Manitowoc, Mrs. Art (Margaret) Friedland of Orlando, Florida, Mrs. Richard (Alice) Baryenbruch of Manitowoc, Mrs. James (June) Gallagher of Manitowoc; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Athlene Cavanaugh of Manitowoc; nine grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Mrs. Margaret Mrotek of Manitowoc; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Steven, and two brothers, Edward and William Cavanaugh.

Friends may call at St. Mary's Church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to the time of service. Christianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, is serving the family.
