James H. Mrotek, age 76 , of 6171 W. Donges Lane, Brown Deer, Wis., died Saturday, March 27, 1999, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 1999, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. John Congrad, with burial to follow at St. Mary's Church Cemetery, Clarks Mills.

Jim was born on Sept. 6, 1922 in Manitowoc, son of the late Michael and Gretchen Frisch Mrotek. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1940. Jim married Rita Cavanaugh in 1951 in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death in February of 1990. He later married Shirley Staalson Meyer in Brown Deer. Jim was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for many years, retiring in 1982.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Mrotek, Brown Deer; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Tim Mrotek and his fiancée Mary Schleis, John and Debbie Mrotek, and Mike and Sarah Mrotek, all of Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jon Preston, Maribel; 12 grandchildren-James, Heather, Joseph, Megan, Jennifer, Daniel, Michael, Stephanie, Jessica, Mitchell, Jason and John; one brother, George Mrotek of Dallas, Texas; two sisters and broters-in-law, Marguerite (Peg) and Lloyd Kellogg of Oregon, Wis., and Barbara and Joe Stubbs of Westminster, Calif. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Mrotek.

Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice.

Jim will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity and sense of humor.
