Actress. A veteran of both stage and screen, she is remembered for her award-winning performance in Edward Albee's "Three Tall Women". Raised in Greenock, Scotland, she studied drama in England before returning home where she made her 1955 Broadway debut as Marian Seldes' understudy in "The Chalk Garden". Myra made her 1958 small screen bow in an episode of "Kraft Theatre" and over the next decades was seen on such television shows as "The DuPont Show of the Month", "Thriller", "Camera Three", "Fraser", and "The Nanny". Devoting her talents primarily to the stage, she had a particular association with Edward Albee and was seen in the original run of "All Over" as well as in revivals of "A Delicate Balance" and "The Lady From Dubuque". When "Three Tall Women" had its debut in 1991, she was in the cast as a dying mother known only as 'A', then when it became a smash Broadway hit in 1994 her efforts were rewarded with Drama Desk, Obie, Outer Critics Circle, and Lucille Lortel Awards. Myra earned praise for her role in the 1999 Nicholas Cage crime drama "8mm", received her final credit for the 2008 short "May Day", lived out her days in Manhattan, and died of pneumonia.
