Actor. He was born in Eaglecliffe, England. As a youth he went on an international tour with the Old Vic Company, and was later a distinguished member of Anthony Quayle's Shakespeare Memorial Company, Ian McKellen's Actor's Company, and the Nottingham Playhouse. But he is best known for playing Algy Herries in the drama, "To Serve Them All My Days," Dr. Alex Ferrenby in "Heartbeat" and as Rocky in "As Time Goes By" until his death. On screen he appeared with Bette Davis in "Madame Sin" (1972), in "Barry Lyndon" (1975) playing Sir Charles Lyndon, and in "One Against the Wind" (1991). He died in Northwood, Middlessex, England.
