SALISBURY - W. M. 'Shorty' Rice, 78, of 500 Mitchell Ave. died Tuesday at the home of his son.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mildord Hills United Methodist Church of which he was a member. Burial will be in Rowan Memorial Park.
Rice was the owner and operator of a grocery store in Woodleaf.
Surviving are son, Allen Rice of Salisbury; brother, Graham Rice of Woodleaf; sister, Mrs. Helen Everhardt of Charlotte; two grandchildren.
The family will be at Summersett Funeral Home 7-8:30 p.m. today.
