AUBURN — Ryan S. Hathaway, 18, of Auburn, died Saturday, January 16, 2016 in Auburn.
He was born May 21, 1997 in Fort Wayne, to Eric D. and Angela M. (Greim) Hathaway.
Ryan graduated from Garrett High School in 2015 and was a member of the baseball, soccer, wrestling and basketball teams.
He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Garrett and was involved in its youth group.
Ryan had worked as a CNA on the medisurg floor at DeKalb Health in Auburn and was recently working assembly at Accel International in Avilla.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Angela Hathaway of Garrett; his father Eric (Kristina) Hathaway of Auburn, a brother, Kyle Hathaway of Auburn; a sister: Alivia Spratt of Garrett; step-brothers: David Savage of Corry, Tennessee and Lyle Savage of Anderson; step-sisters Alexis Doster of Auburn, Miki (Spencer) Fiandt of Garrett, Elisha Mills of Garrett and Autumn Byerley of Fort Hood, Texas. Ryan is also survived by his grandparents, Dewayne "Bud" and Carol Hathaway of Garrett, Theresa Greim of Fort Wayne and Linda Scott of Greensburg; and great-grandmother Betty Pratt of Searcy, Arkansas.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 20, at Thomas Funeral Home, 1277 C.R. 56, Garrett, and from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, January 21 at the First Church of Christ in Garrett. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the First Church of Christ, 213 E. King St., Garrett, with youth minister Chad Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett.
Memorials are to Thomas Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
