Professional Football Player. Born Willie Louis Richardson, he played the position of wide receiver for both the Baltimore Colts and Miami Dolphins of the National Football League during a nine year career. He was an All-American at Jackson State University and was drafted by both the New York Jets of the American Football League and the Baltimore Colts of the National Football League in 1963. He went to the Colts and played for them from 1963 to 1969. He was a two time Pro Bowl Selection (1967 and 1968) and an Associated Press 1st Team All Pro in 1967. While with the Colts, he played in Super Bowl III against the New York Jets. He would play for the Miami Dolphins in 1970 and a year later return to the Colts for one more year before retiring. During his career, he had 195 receptions for 2,950 yards and 25 touchdowns. His older brother Gloster Richardson also played football in the National Football League. He was later a color analyst for Jackson State football games and hosted a local radio show.
