Utica Weekly Herald (Utica, NY), Tuesday, May 21, 1872, p. 4:
"A ceremony in which many of our readers are interested through relationship and acquaintance, occurred in Lyons on Thursday afternoon. It was the marriage of Major C. H. ROYS, district attorney of Wayne county, and Miss JULIA K. HOLLEY, of Lyons. We have known Major ROYS as a chivalrous student at Hamilton College, as a gallant soldier, winning a sword for bravery at Fort fisher, as an able and efficient public officer; and we note with pleasure the “HOLLEY-day existence” he has attained. The village of Lyons was enlivened by the presence of serveral Uticans on Thursday."
