Benjamin was the son of Phillip Keller and Amelia Richterkessing. On 17 Dec 1905 he eloped with his girlfriend Isabelle "Belle" Dannenhold, much to the chagrin of her mother. The couple had one daughter, Barbara. Benjamin was a retired retail clothing merchant and tailor. He died of auricular fibrillation at Jewish Hospital at the age of 73.
