DECATUR -- Dorothy Rose Edney Sellers, 90, of Decatur, passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at Decatur Morgan Main Hospital.

A Celebration of Life Service will be at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 29, 2016 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Jason McAbee, Steve Agee and Robert Phraner officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery immediately following the service. Visitation will be today, February 29, 2016, from noon to 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home.

She was born April 18, 1925, in Town Creek, Alabama, to Geneva and Albert Rose. She retired from Browns Fabric Center. Those who knew her best will remember her as a loving wife, mother, sister and friend who always saw the good in everyone she knew. She put others first, encouraged her children and grandchildren to do what is right and to visit often. She enjoyed life and new adventures. Her laughter was infectious. She was an accomplished seamstress, avid gardener, and occasionally enjoyed oil painting. She was a long time devoted member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Ralph Edney; four brothers, Edward Rose, O'Neal Rose, Buddy Rose and Grady Rose; parents, Geneva and Albert Rose; three sisters, Vivian Motes, Janie Austin and Bertie Price; and two granddaughters, Carla Terry and Lindsey Edney.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Leonard Sellers; nine children, Carolyn Newton (Adrien), Donna Vaughn, Douglas Edney (Karon), Ronald Edney (Debbie), Leslie Edney (Angela), Jeffrey Edney, Carol Lawson (Jerry), Steve Sellers (Sheila) and Mark Sellers (Sandy); 24 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Rose Brackin.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, "God's Gang", children's ministry.
