Funeral Today for Maude M. Gorgas
Native of Sonora
Miss Maude M. Gorgas, daughter of the late Lee and Mary Gorgas, pioneer residents of Tuolumne County, died in a Sonora hospital Monday evening after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at the Bigelow Chapel this morning at 9:30 o'clock followed by Mass at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Gilmartin officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Rosary was recited at the chapel last evening at 8 o'clock.
Miss Gorgas, a native of Sonora, was a bookkeeper and accountant by occupation and had been employed at the courthouse in the surveyor's office for the past four years. She was a member of Dolores Institute No. 7, Y. L. I. of San Francisco.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Dow of San Francisco and Mrs. Stella Porter of San Francisco, a brother, Ed Gorgas of Sonora, an uncle, William Harrington of Sonora and an aunt, Mrs. J. D. Crall of San Francisco.
