Born May 30, 1927, transitioned into eternal life March 5, 2016. Wife of the late Bowling Briggs Boyd Jr., she was also preceded in death by her parents, her 4 siblings, her son-in-law, Larry Beasley, a grandson, Joshua Wallen and a great grandson, Elijah Jordan.She is survived by 4 adoring children, David Buchanan Boyd (Linda), Rebecca Boyd Wallen (Jeff), Susan Boyd Beasley, and Emily Boyd Gray (Cary), 7 surviving grandchildren, Jennifer Burton (Nathan), David Boyd (Tashia), Nicole Jordan (Whit), Patrick Boyd, Matthew Sayers (Liz), Beth Sayers and Jessie Wallen, 11 great grandchildren, as well as siblings-in-law and many nieces, nephews.A committed follower of Christ, she was an active member of the Lebanon Road Church of Christ and was a Bible teacher for 65 years. She held a Bachelors of Science from Vanderbilt University. As a homemaker she created a home for not only her immediate family, but for elderly parents, Agape foster children, and visiting missionaries. Her skill in homemaking reflected her artistry - whether through her sewing, decorating, cooking or extending hospitality to all who enjoyed a meal at her table. A life-long lover of music, she was a patron of the Nashville Symphony from its inception. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of the Lebanon Road Garden Club.Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 7 at Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home, services 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8 at Lebanon Road Church of Christ, followed by burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. -
