Richard A. Eastwood June 18, 1964 March 4, 2016 Richard A. Eastwood, 51, of Boalsburg, peacefully passed away at his home on Friday, March 4, 2016. Born June 18, 1964, in Leominster, Mass., he was the son of the late Harold J. and Marianne (Deininger) Eastwood. He married Kimberly Segedy on March 10, 1983, in Odenton, Md., who survives at home. Rich is also survived by two children, Jason L. Eastwood, of Boalsburg and Rachel N. Floravit and her husband, Matthew, of Boalsburg; three brothers, Harald Eastwood and his wife, Gerry, of Savanah, Ga., Robert Eastwood and his wife, Kim, of Darien, Ga. and Dennis Eastwood and his wife, Lesa, of New Bern, N.C.; four sisters, Karin Day, of Rincon, Ga., Kathy Gardepe and her husband, Norbert, of Lorton, Va., Barbara Knox and her husband, Larry, of Oskaloosa, Iowa and Linda Farrell and her husband, Mike, of New Market, Md.; four grandchildren, Amari and Dean Eastwood, and Thomas and Jacob Floravit; and mother-in-law, Gail Segedy, of Pasadena, Md. In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Eastwood. Rich graduated from Columbia Southern University with a bachelor's degree in Sports Management in 2005, and received his master's degree from the University of Phoenix in Human Resources in 2007. Rich served in the United States Army for twenty-two years earning numerous awards, including three Meritorious Service Medals, a Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Draper Leadership Award. His time in the service also included a deployment for Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. After retiring as a 1st Sergeant in 2005, he continued working with the Army ROTC program at Lock Haven University and Penn State University. Rich also worked part-time at the Penn State Golf Course. Being family oriented, Rich was proud of his family and treasured spending time with them. His grandchildren always made him smile; he loved being their Pop Pop. Rich was a sports enthusiast, attending Penn State ice hockey and football games, collecting autographed memorabilia, and was a life-long Oakland Raiders and Boston Red Socks fan. As an avid golfer, he enjoyed playing and working with all his friends at the course. Rich also enjoyed rides on his motorcycle and sitting on his deck with a good cigar in hand. He celebrated his love for Jesus as a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, State College. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 820 Westerly Parkway, State College with Reverend Neal Dadey officiating. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for the Cancer Institute, Mail Code A120, 90 Hope Drive P.O.
