Swedish-German prince. He was the last Heir Presumptive to the throne of Sweden in the Oldenburg Dynasty, the only son of Prince Gustav of Sweden later called "of Vasa" which was a courtesy title not a name. He had royal status genealogically but was born after his father's legal royalty expired. He died only a few days old ending his branch of the Oldenburg Dynasty, which had been royal in Sweden, called the House of Holstein-Gottorp. His remains were moved from Germany with those of his father and grandfather Gustav IV Adolph in 1884.
