Mr. Randall Byrd “Randy” Compton, age 60, of Rosedale, Virginia passed away Friday (March 11, 2016) in an Abingdon, Virginia hospital. Born August 30, 1955 in Richlands, Virginia he was a son of the late Harry Byrd and Phyllis Jean Tiller Compton. A lifelong resident of Buchanan and Russell Counties, he was a 1974 graduate of Council High School. He loved to build and was employed as a brick mason. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the lake and watching westerns.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sheila Ann Ramsey; grandchild, Brantley Whited; sister-in-law, Rebecca Compton; niece, Crystal Compton and several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Compton of the home; two daughters, Miranda Compton and Brandy Whited and husband, Luke both of Rosedale, Virginia; one granddaughter, Ella Whited of Rosedale, Virginia; three brothers, Jerry Compton and wife, Diana of Honaker, Virginia, Larry Compton and wife, Carol of Council, Virginia and Kenny Compton of Lebanon, Virginia; aunt, Lorraine Farmer of Honaker, Virginia and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Monday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward Tiller and Rev. Denver Sutherland officiating. Interment will follow in the Frank Smith Cemetery on Big A Mountain, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Colt Whited, Allen Nuckles, Greg Tiller, Ernie Ball, Jerry Compton, Larry Byrd Compton, Willie Sullivan, Ronald Tiller and Stone Stevens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Compton and Luke Whited.

The family will receive friends after 6 PM Sunday at the Honaker Funeral Home, where an evening service will be conducted at 7 PM.
