Carrie was the daughter of Frank Bauman and Thresia Hess. On 18 Jul 1900 she married James Auter and they had eight children: Bertha, James F., Mildred, Margaret, Pauline, a stillborn infant boy, James W. and Catherine. Carrie died of hypertensive heart disease at her home, 671 Southwestern Parkway, at the age of 62.
