Actress. The wife of entertainer Edgar Bergen and mother of actress Candice Bergen. She started her career as a model in New York. She was "the Chesterfield Cigarette Girl" and "the Ipana Girl" in magazines and on billboards. At age 19 she caught the eye of her future husband at one of his shows. He was 20 years her senior. They married in Mexico. They had two children, Candice and son Kris. She appeared in the 1953 film "Titanic". She would appear in several other films including "American Gigolo (1980) and "Made in America" (1993). She also appeared in many television shows, among them "Murder, She Wrote" and her daughter's show "Murphy Brown". Edgar Bergen died in 1978. Her name when she was born was Leo Frances Westerman
