William H. Story Jr., 81, of Marinette, WI passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016, at home. He was born on January 23, 1935, to the late William and Clara (Newbury) Story Sr. in Menominee, MI.

William attended Peshtigo High School and went on to enlist in the Marine Corps serving his country during the Korean War.

On April 21, 1956, William married Joy N. Peters at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Marinette. He worked at Badger Paper for 42 years, mostly as a truck driver. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Little River Country Club, where he was proud to have achieved a hole in one, and the American Legion. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, puttering in his garage, and playing cards at Apple Jacks with his friends.

William is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joy; sons: William H. (Debbie) Story IV of Green Bay, WI and Ted (Judy) Story of Marinette, WI; a daughter, Belle (Brian) Maedke of Peshtigo, WI; seven grandchildren: Ted, William V (Kim), Danielle (Luke), Adam (Ashley), Vincent (fiancé, Brittany), Nikki and Dylan; and four great-grandchildren: Brady, William VI, Evelyn and Gemma.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Shirley Johnson, Priscilla Shroble and Patricia Spain.

Visitation will be held at Thielen Funeral Home on Friday, April 1st from 9 to 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish –Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Taylor St., with Rev. Celestine Byekwaso officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee, MI
