Wilbur resided in Marinette most of his life and was a graduate of Marinette High School, Class of 1946. In 1947, he served with the United States Army during the occupation of Japan. He briefly worked at Scott Paper Co. before his employment with Menominee Paper Co., retiring after 39 years with the company. He was a longtime member of Marinette Masonic Lodge 182 and the Menominee American Legion Post 146.
Wilbur is survived by his wife, Dori Lynn Mans of Marinette;
four children: Sandi (Mark) Zylkowski, Michael (Lisa) Cook, Steven (Kathy) Cook and Paul Thieben;
seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren;
two brothers: Robert (Jan) Cook and James Cook;
his father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Lana Mans;
and a brother-in-law, Tom (Pat) Mans.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister and brother-in-law, Elaine and Silas Saxton.
Friends may call at Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home in Marinette from 4 until 6 p.m. on Monday, April 11, 2016. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. with the Rev. Craig Mansur officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be on Tuesday, April 12th at Forest Home Cemetery.
