OBITUARY.
Mary Jane Campbell.
Mary Jane Campbell, Mother of William S. Campbell, 2400 Vine street, and for many years a resident of College View, who died in Whittier, Cal., was born near Greenberg, Decatur county, Ind., November 2, 1845, and lived to be eighty years old, six months and six days, when she died May 8, 1926.
Her father Mejlmsy Oldham and wife came to Indiana from Pennsylvania at an early date. Other members of the family were Sanford H. Oldham, of University Place, Neb., Esward D. Oldham, of Fresno, Cal., Luther E. Oldham, Xenia, O., Mrs. Susie Lewis, Ord. Neb., Mrs. Rebecca Robyler, of Milburn, Neb., and Mrs. Ellie Holcomo, deceased. During her youth Mrs. Campbell was a teacher and at the age of eighteen she married Walter S. Campbell, a soldier In the Army of Potomac, a member of Company K, 18th Indiana. A few years after the war closed, Mr. and Mrs. Campbell moved to Kankakee County, Ill., where they resided until 1881.
In 1881 they migrated to Nebraska and remained here until 1918. From Nebraska they moved to Oregon and later to California, where Mr. Campbell passed away July 14, 1923.
The children born to this union are: William S. Campbell, Lincoln; Joshia M. Campbell, Whittier, Cal.; Walter H. Campbell, Berkeley, Cal.; Mrs. Luella M. Fox, Washougal, Wash.; Charles S. Campbell, Arlington, Cal.; Clara J. Campbell, deceased George K. Campbell, Taylor, Neb.: John E. Campbell, Lincoln, Neb.; Mrs. Susie M. Gibson, Tulare, Cal.: and Guy F. Campbell, Gaston, Ore.
