GAINESVILLE, TEXAS - Funeral Services for Joye Marie Pruitt, 85, were held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with the Rev. Jordan Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery.
Joye passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at Whitesboro Health & Rehabilitation Center.
Joye was born on October 22, 1930 in Gainesville to Chester Allen Neathery and Minnie Lee (Sparks) Neathery. She married Fred Pruitt on August 19, 1950 in Denton and was a homemaker. She was a member of Harvey Street Baptist Church in Gainesville.
Survivors include three sons, Monty Pruitt of Gainesville, David Pruitt and wife, Gayle of Whitesboro and Timothy Pruitt of Grand Prairie; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sarah McPherson of Dallas; and a brother, William David Neathery of Mansfield.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Pruitt; two sisters, Patsy Jean Anderson and Margaret Lucille Wheeler; and a brother, C.A. Neathery.
