One of the saddest accidents ever happened in Carroll befell the fourteen year old son of Mr. Martin Taylor, last Friday. He was working at Mr. Owen's gin, on Dr. Gauldings old place, and while performing his duty at the press his coat caught in a shaft, which hurled him around and around until the machine could be stopped. He was so mangled that he died that afternoon at six o'clock. He was buried at Striplings Chapel. (Carroll Free Press; Carrollton, Carroll County, GA; Nov. 30, 1894; Page 3)
