Professional Football Player. For nine seasons (1991 to 1993 and 1995 to 2000), he played at the tight end position in the National Football League with the New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, Miami Dolphins and Baltimore Ravens. Born Frank Wesley Wainwright, III, he attended Pomona High School in Colorado, where he played basketball and football and continued his athletics on the collegiate level at the University of Northern Colorado. Selected by the Saints during the 8th round of the 1991 NFL Draft, he totaled 121 career regular season games. He experienced a Super Bowl championship with the Baltimore Ravens in 2001. During the course of his career, Wainwright served as an effective long snapper on field goal attempts. After retiring from football, he operated a medical supply company in his native Colorado. After his death, his brain was donated to the Concussion Legacy Foundation for the purpose of the study of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy and the impact the condition has on former football players.
