He was the son of Clement S. Bee and Martha P. Morrison. He was the grandson of Confederate Gen. Hamilton P. Bee. He was named after his paternal uncle, Confederate Capt. Cristobal Benavides.

In 1953 he was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame. He was the Railroad and Express Rate Officer for the State of Oklahoma for 46 years.

Oklahoma City. C.B. Bee, 71 died of a heart attack while en route to a picnic with friends.

Bee was head of the Corporation Commission's legal staff shortly after statehood in 1907 and remained a rate counselor for the commission 46 years.

He was a native of Laredo, Texas. The body will be sent to Ardmore for burial.
