CHARLES BRUCE LILLY

Charles Bruce Lilly, DDS, was born in Los Angeles, on May 26, 1936, to Frances and Wilbur Lilly, and passed away on March 24, 2011. Charles graduated from Hoover High School, Glendale, in 1954. After three years of undergraduate study at the University of Southern California, he was admitted to the USC School of Dentistry and received the DDS degree in 1961. He practiced dentistry in Burbank from 1961 to 2005. During those years, his natural enthusiasm and generosity led to leadership roles in the Glendale Four-Cylinder Club, Burbank Kiwanis, Burbank City Planning Board, YMCA, the San Fernando Valley Dental Society and Burbank First United Methodist Church.

Charles was married to his college sweetheart, Marian Staton Lilly for forty-nine years until her death in 2005. He is survived by his widow, Joyce O'Gar Lilly. He is lovingly remembered by his mother Frances Lilly Scott (Beecher Scott); sister, Sharon Lilly; son, Bruce Lilly (Leslie Lilly), his daughter, Melinda Lilly Thompson (Scott Thompson); grandchildren, Elizabeth Lilly, Charles Lilly, Henry Thompson and Lyra Thompson. He will also be missed by his many good friends and associates in the larger community.

A memorial service will be held at Burbank First United Methodist Church on Friday, April 15th, at 2:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Burbank Kiwanis Foundation, Burbank First United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
