Elmer D. Young Dies Suddenly.
Elmer Dorsey Young, 60, died at 9 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, of a heart attack at his home in Lyndon.
He was born and reared here and was a son of the late W. M. and Iola Wynn Young.
His business life had included tobacco business in Henderson, association with his brother, the late James O. Young, in Young Chevrolet Company in Providence, and with his brother, the late Edgar M. Young, in Phoenix Milling Company in Providence. He was with North American Fertilizer Company in Louisville and later was one of the officers of Tri-State Chemical Company in Henderson. He was a member of the board of the latter firm at the time of his death.
He was a member of Beargrass Christian Church at St. Matthews and the Masonic Lodge in Providence.
Surviving are the wife, the former Miss Lucille Harris; a sister, Mrs. A.L. Lloyd, Providence; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Pearson Funeral Home, Breckinridge Lane, St. Matthews.
Burial was in Rest Haven Cemetery, Bardstown Road.
