Professional Basketball Player. For six seasons (1955 to 1956 and 1958 to 1963), he played at the shooting guard and small forward positions in the National Basketball Association with the St. Louis Hawks and Chicago Zephyrs. Born Albert R. Ferrari, he attended Brooklyn Technical High School and played collegiate basketball at Michigan State University. While with the Spartans, he set a school record of 21 consecutive successful free-throws in 1955. Selected by St. Louis during the 15th round of the 1955 NBA Draft, he made an immediate impact on the league during his rookie year (1955-1956), as he scored 546 points that season. He lost two of his prime years due to service with the United States Military and missed out on an NBA Championship with the Hawks in 1958.
