Actor. He will be remembered for playing 'Agent William Youngfellow' in the TV series "The Untouchables" (1959 to 1963). Born Abel Gonzalez Fernandez, his father was of Mexican origin, his mother was of Native-American descent, he served with the United States Army as a paratrooper and experienced a successful boxing career, prior to turning to acting during the early 1950s. He served as a sparring partner with legendary champion Rocky Marciano. He made his motion picture debut in the film "Second Chance" (1953), in which he fought Robert Mitchum. He utilized his experience as a fighter once again, when he played 'Chief Firebird' in the picture "The Harder They Fall" (1956). Fernandez was cast in the Korean War film "Pork Chop Hill" (1959). He remained active in films and TV until taking a decade long break from the industry. He resumed his career during the early 1980s and sporadically appeared on television and the big screen including the film "Quicksilver" (1986).
