Lars was born on the 23 of March, 1818 to Elling and Elen "Askieldsdatter" Danielson in Bergen, Norway. He was the oldest of seven children. On the 20th of January, 1843 he married Sophia Johanna Persdotter-Norgren of Sweden. The ceremony took place in Hammerfest, Finnmark, Norway. Sometime after 1866 he moved through Canada with his wife and children to Hyde Park, Cook Co., Illinois. Lars was the father 0f 13 children and was employed in Norway as a skipper and in Hyde Park as a labor and finally a carpenter.
