Anna Bernice (Kuzmjak) Hrabar, 82, of Spotswood, died Sunday, August 27, 2012 at Roosevelt Care Center, Old Bridge.
Born in Ogdensburg and raised in Perth Amboy, Anna lived in Avenel for more than 50 years before settling in Spotswood in 2004. Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years with the William Penn Insurance Company in Perth Amboy and Supermarkets General Corp. in Woodbridge. She was a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Avenel Fire Department. She enjoyed cooking, travelling with her husband on business trips and spending time in the Poconos.
Predeceased by her husband Michael Hrabar in 2003 and her sisters Mary Korodan and Helen Troccoli, she is survived by her daughters, Michaelene Mirkovich and her husband George, of Toano, VA and Annette David of Spotswood and Annette’s former husband, Michael David, of Old Bridge; her sisters, Ruth Taylor of Hopelawn and Dorothy Coley of Lexington, NC; her brother, John Kuzmjak of Liverpool, England, and; her grandchildren, Melissa, Meagan and Monica Mirkovich and Danielle and Dayna David.
Funeral services will begin at 9:30 AM Saturday, from Spotswood Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Spotswood, with interment to follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Perth Amboy. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at the funeral home, with a Panachida at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations honoring Anna’s memory be made to: William Penn Fraternal Assoc. Scholarship Foundation, Inc., 709 Brighton Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15233-1821.
