Mrs. Florida G. Howard died at the home of John W. Maddox at 9:45 p.m. December 18, 1909. Funeral from St. David's Episcopal church at 3:30 this afternoon.

Funeral of the Late
Mrs. Florida G. Howard

The funeral of the late Mrs. Florida G. Howard was conducted yesterday afternoon from St. David's Episcopal church, the Rev. T. B. Lee officiating. The pallbearers were Herman Pressler, W. E. Armstrong, N. S. Spiller, W. S. West, Tom Miller, and Charles M. Callaway.
Mrs. Howard was 83 years of age. She was the daughter of Governor William P. Duval of Florida, the territorial governor of that state and was the sister of Judge Thomas H. Duval and of Colonel John C. Duval one of the survivors of the Goliad massacre. Mrs. Howard came to Texas in the pioneer days. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary D. Hopkins of Fort Worth now more recently made her home with her niece, Mrs. John W. Maddox in West Austin. Death was caused by pneumonia.
Among other sisters of Mrs. Howard were Mrs. George W. Paschal, Mrs. Beal, both deceased and Mrs. Randolph, who died recently in Florida. A daughter Mrs. Frank Hamilton is also dead, but a granddaughter, Mrs. Jack Moran of Houston, still survives.
Mrs. Howard was one of the prominent leaders in Austin some years ago and had many devoted friends.
