South Korean President. He served as acting President of South Korea from October 1979 to August 1980, following the assassination of President Park Chung-hee. Kyu-ha was elected as the nation's fourth President in December 1979. He was removed from office eight months later following a military coup led by Chun Doo-hwan, who succeeded him as the self-appointed leader. Prior to his presidency Kyu-hah served as Foreign Minister from 1967 to 1971, Presidential Security Advisor from 1971 to 1975, and as the nation's Prime Minister from 1976 to 1979. He died from heart failure in Seoul.
