Eddith “Eddi” George went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday February 23, 2016. She was born December 22, 1918 in Moorhead, Iowa with her twin sister Edna. She was preceded in death by her husband, David George, her sister Edna Holverson and their parents, Orren & Mae Rude and nephew Clayton Holverson.

Eddi leaves to cherish her memories, one daughter Mildred and son-in-law Robert Burch. Grandson, David and wife Dena Burch, great-grandson, Danny and his wife Stacy with their children who were her great-great-grandsons, Hudson and Jack Burch. Great-grandson Darren Burch, great-grandson Derek Burch and his fiancé Shelby Hall. Chad Peterson and his wife Leigha and great-grandson Gaven and great-granddaughter Dylan. Nephew Maynard Holverson, Kathy Holverson, Reid & Leiah Holverson and their daughters Haley and Taylor. Heidi & Matt Eivins and Anthony, Austin and Ariel. Daughters and sons in love, Judy and Gilbert Burch and Avereil and Charles Boyer. Along with the entire extended Burch family, who many claimed her as Mom and Grammie.

Eddi married David Lloyd George on July 1, 1943, they proudly served their country and traveled the globe as an USA Air Force officer for over 30 years. She was a Grey Lady Volunteer during the active years in the military and after retiring in Ft Walton Beach Florida. Eddi and David were happily married for 48 years at the time of David’s passing. She was a volunteer at the Emerald Coast nursing home. Eddi and David found a church home at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where they worshipped together for many years.

In 2001, Eddi moved to Ovilla, Texas to live with Millie and Doug. She attended numerous card clubs and many athletic and church programs of her three great-grandsons. She joined Ovilla United Methodist Church and was blessed by many there.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 26, 2016 at Jaynes Funeral Home in Duncanville, TX from 6 to 8 pm. A memorial service will be at Ovilla Methodist Church, Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016 at 11 AM. Graveside service will be at the DFW National Cemetery on Tuesday March 1, 2016 at 11 AM.
