Cartoonist, Author. Best remembered for creating the comic strips "Miss Peach" and "Momma". Following high school, he began his career as a collaboration with Al Capp on the comic strip "Li'l Abner" and in 1957, he launched his first solo effort "Miss Peach", which ran in syndication nationwide for forty-five years. In 1963, he penned his first novel "The Boss Is Crazy, Too" and in 1970, he launched the "Momma" comic strip which ran until his death. Lazarus received numerous honors including the National Cartoonists Society Medal of Honor in 2016.
