Tony Lynn Freeman, 64, of Ammon, passed away May 29, 2016, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was under the care of Alliance Hospice.

Tony was born May 17, 1952, in Rigby, Idaho, to Cleo Freeman and Rachel Weeks. He grew up and attended schools in Ririe and graduated from Ririe High School in 1970, where he was very involved and made many lifelong friends. He then attended Ricks College, where he met his eternal companion.

On June 12, 1975, he married Pennie Jean Burgess in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born 5 children: Bart, Misty, Melissa, Cameron, and Tyson. With the passing of Pennie’s mother in 1977, her three youngest siblings joined their family. Tony loved Monte, Shane and Heidi Burgess as his own children. Tony and Pennie made their home in Ucon, Idaho for the past 38 years. Twenty-one years of that time Tony and his wife worked together building their business, Freeman’s Forms and Supplies. His love for the business is being carried on by Bart and KaLynn Freeman.

He served for two years in the Tallahassee Florida mission. After his mission Tony continued to serve faithfully in all of his church callings. He enjoyed fishing, camping, playing games with family, golfing and rooting for his Washington Redskins. The highlight of Tony’s life was centered around his children and grandchildren’s accomplishments.

Tony is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Pennie Freeman of Ammon, ID; son, Bart (KaLynn) Freeman of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Misty (Bryan) Tieken of Meridian, ID; daughter, Melissa (Scott) Kirtley of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Cameron (Hillary) Freeman of Twin Falls, ID; son, Tyson (Kate) Freeman of Ammon, ID; daughter, Heidi (Travis) Wells of Westfield, IN; son, Monte Burgess of Puyallup, WA; son, Shane (Monica) Burgess of Sunset Beach, NC; sister, Carolyn (Roger) McCord of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Gary (Susan) Freeman of Linwood, WA; step-father, Donald Miller of Garden City, UT; 22 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleo Freeman and Rachel Weeks Miller; brother, Karry Freeman, and grandson, Kasey Burgess.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Ucon LDS Stake Center, 2967 East 105 North, with Bishop Jade Dye officiating.
