Helen Smith, 82, Broken Bow, Oklahoma, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at McCurtain Memorial Hospital, Idabel, Oklahoma.

A graveside service was at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at Saratoga Cemetery with Robert Peek officiating, under the direction of Latimer Funeral Home, Nashville, Ark.

Helen Smith was born Jan. 10, 1921, at Saratoga, Ark., the daughter of the late James Jefferson and Vera McJunkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Ed Smith; an infant son; two sisters, Janie Fern Fincher and Mary Bridgeman; and five brothers, James, Sam, Clayburn, Haskell and Donald McJunkins.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters and a son-in-law, Dianne Smith, and Roxie Louise and Wylie Turley, all of Broken Bow; one sister, Sovilla Porter, Hope, Ark.; one brother, Lahron McJunkins, Texarkana, Ark.;

Two granddaughters, Cassandra Lee Cummins and Beverly Kim Irvin; and five great-grandchildren, Chad Minor, Brittany and Leslee Cummins, and Brent and Sherra Irvin.
