Precious Sylvia Mae Howard was born February 15, 1946 in Glen Rogers, West Virginia to Richard and Laura Wright. At age 70, she went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, May 31, 2016.

She resided in Washington, D.C. for 33 years where she retired from Verizon Wireless after many years of service.

After retirement, Sylvia moved to Columbus, Ohio to be near her family.

Sylvia spent many years serving as a loving foster parent and enjoyed reading, playing cards and video games.

She loved to entertain and enjoyed family celebrations, most notably Christmas, when she showered her family with gifts. Above all Sylvia treasured the loving relationships she had with her children, sisters, brothers, and extended family and friends.

Predeceased by parents, Richard and Laura Wright; brothers, Harry Wright, Robert Wright; sister, Ada “Darlene” Kamara; longtime companions Charles Thorpe and George Coffey.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Shawn Wright, Candy Broaddus; grandchildren, Jayme, Justen (Daria), Tracy, Brandyn, Sydney; siblings, Evadean Davis, Ricardo Wright, Martha Manns, Marian (Clarence) Richardson, Anita Valerie (Isaiah) Coleman, Flemmon Wright; special brothers, Christopher (Ann) Woods, Eldridge (Erika) Law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
