Billy Harold Ewing, Sr., 89, of Sale Creek went home to be with his Savior on Thursday, June 9, 2016.


Bill was retired from Combustion Engineering after 40 years as a tool and die shop supervisor. He was a veteran of World War II, serving most of his time in Germany. He was a lifetime member of Harrison Lodge #114 and the Alhambra Shrine. He was also a former member of the Highland Sportsman Club and was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener.



Bill's favorite Bible verse is 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man can be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."


He is preceded in death by his wife, Annetta Ellis Ewing of Harrison; parents, John R. "Bo" and Odell Ewing of Harrison, and sister, Lillian Mongar of Birchwood.


Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Lucille Shipley Ewing of Sale Creek; sons Bill Jr. of Kentucky and Raymond (Barbra) Ewing of Harrison; stepson, Billy (Freida) Shipley of Dayton; stepdaughters Martha (Larry) Cates of Sale Creek and Debbie (Warren) Hill of Sale Creek, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.


The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Black and his staff for the kindness and special care that was provided to Bill over the years. They would also like to thank Home Healthcare of East Tennessee and Hospice for their loving care.


Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor David Haynes presiding. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Bartlebaugh Baptist Cemetery on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.


Arrangements are by Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379.
