Norbert was the son of Adolph Nopper and Maria Von Bokern. On 25 Jan 1940 he married Thelma Steier and they had four children: Norbert, David, Sarah and Judy. He was a retired pharmacist at the old General Hospital, a member of the board of St. Joseph's Orphans Society and a member of the Knights of St. John. Norbert died of a heart attack at the Suburban Medical Center at the age of 78.
Norbert and Thelma died on the same day. She passed away shortly after midnight and it was while at the funeral home later the same day making her arrangements that Norbert suffered his fatal heart attack.
