Catherine Amelia Beatty, age 93, died on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at her home.

Born September 23, 1922, in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late George Kelly and Icy Fern (Hoyle) Manning.

She was the widow of Seibert Beatty, who died in 1993.

She was a graduate of Warfordsburg High School.

She attended the Buck Valley Christian Church.

She loved singing, writing and collecting music, especially Bluegrass, and she had numerous collections of figurines.

She is survived by a daughter, Faye Delores Matthews, of Fort Littleton, Pa.; two sons, Randy Wayne Beatty, and Merle Allen Beatty, both of Buck Valley, Pa.; a sister, Barbara (Barb) Hewett, of Gerrardstown, Md.; and two brothers, George (Bub) Manning, Jr., of Hancock, Md., and Winston (Wink) Manning, of Martinsburg, W.Va.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Nita E. White; a son, Jerry Lee Beatty; five sisters, Virginia, Mary, Beulah, Violet and Velma (Rigg); a grandson, Matthew Lynn Weller; and a granddaughter, Dena White.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 14, from 6 until 9 p.m., at the Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, and at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, at 2:00 p.m., at the Buck Valley Christian Church, 2281 Harmonia Road, Warfordsburg, Pa. Rev. Scott Gibbs will officiate. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
